Around the fourth lesson, my students learn about 4 chord songs accompaniment. There are thousands of songs based on chords I IV V vi. Those four chords can be played in various combinations or order called chord progressions. The australian group Axis of Awesome made a great medley of 4 chord songs. Students, pick yours and I will show it to you!

I have attended an excellent workshop in Toronto last week. The Ontario Simply Music teachers received a day long training session from Lyndel Kennedy, the Australian creator of Play-a-Story, an innovative Simply Music and Musicopolis improvisation program initially created for the 4 to 7 years old age group but enjoyable by all ages. I will soon incorporate the Play-a-Story program in my studio to introduce improvisation to my students!
